August Milk Price Drops Nearly $1

It appears as if August’s milk price performance played off the coattails of July, with the average uniform milk price across the 11 Federal Milk Marketing Orders (FMMOS) coming in at $19.76 per hundredweight (cwt), down 98 cents from the previous month, according to the latest FMMO reports. The uniform price in each individual order varied, with some orders reporting a loss of nearly $3 per cwt, while both the California and Upper Midwest orders saw a month-over-month increase.
