Every few months, a new technology arrives with a claim on agriculture. Some of it changes how farms operate. Some of it passes through. Artificial intelligence (AI) is usually discussed through the tools it may bring to the farm: sensors, software, dashboards, decision support. That is only part of the picture. AI also depends on infrastructure being built outside the farm, and data centres are the clearest example.
