Lockout at Cargill Plant Comes to an End

The union representing workers at the Cargill Meat Solutions beef processing plant in Fort Morgan, Colo., reached a new five-year contract agreement Aug. 17 and will go back to work soon.

More than 1,700 Teamsters Local 455 members were locked out of the facility on May 20, the day after they turned down the company’s latest offer in contract negotiations. The contract at the Fort Morgan plant expired Feb. 22, with the union saying it was seeking better wages, health care and safety protections for its members.
